Eurovia Surfacing’s quiet asphalt, low carbon project at Wendover Bypass was recognised for the third time at the Edie Sustainability Leaders Awards for the Building/Infrastructure project of the year in March.
This is the third external award this project has received having last year scooped the Innovation Award and Overall Winner title at the CIHT Awards.
The Wendover scheme was a road resurfacing project which aimed to reduce environmental impact for residents along the A413 bypass in Buckinghamshire. Following early contractor involvement and consultation with the communities affected by HS2 construction traffic travelling on the Wendover Bypass, Eurovia chose a durable, quiet, thin surfacing solution – UL-M, to resurface a 2km section of the road.
The project was completed ahead of schedule with significant savings in time and materials.
